EUS Cytology interpretation by Dr Nalini Bansal
Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) cytology is an emerging imaging modality used in the diagnosis of gastro-enterico-pancreatic lesions. The diagnostic efficacy of EUS-FNA depends on the expertise of gastroenterologist as well as on cytopathologists expertise. On site Diff stained smears have been widely used in EUS FNA’s for increasing the diagnostic yield. However, presence of numerous luminal contaminants, lining epithelial cells makes interpretation a tedious task with misinterpretations. This course seeks to fill that void by providing the data on EUS cytology in a comprehensive manner. The simplicity of this course will help the students and practising pathologists to understand the subject easily.
EUS Cytology Course comprises of high quality endoscopic ultrasound and pathology images of normal , benign and malignant lesions on EUS cytology including pancreatic cytology and other luminal cytology cases. The course contents are available free of cost at the website and can be completed and studied by the students. Its primary focus is on endoscopic ultrasound guided FNA cytology.
By the end of this course, students will be able to identify common EUS FNA guided pathologies. Students will learn about procedure and stations of EUS Cylotology Course.
