Interesting Case of the Month - (IGHP, ICOM) - May

Clinical History-

2-year-old female child who presented with complaints of pain in abdomen for 3 days and 2 episodes of nonbilious vomiting. A vague mass was palpable just below umbilicus with ill-defined margins and firm surface. Ultrasonography whole abdomen was performed, and there was evidence of multicystic intra-abdominal lesion.

PET-Scan-

PET-Scan revealed a large ill-defined infiltrative mass lesion seen in relation to the abdominal mesentery, centred within the mesocolonic fat. The lesion measured 16 × 13.2 × 6.7 cm in size involving almost the entire abdominal cavity and demonstrate no significant contrast enhancement

Gross-

Gross examination revealed a large multicystic mass with variable small size cysts measuring 17 × 10 × 4 cm in size. On serial sectioning, milky white fluid came out.
