Clinical History-
73-year-old male presented with complaints ofanaemia, abdominal pain and dyspepsia. Underwent UGIE and biopsies from Duodenum are obtained.
UGIE-
UGIE with NBI was performed which showed mucosal nodularity in the Duodenum in D1 region.

PAS stain highlighted weak staining in the lesional cells.

Gastric heterotopia (GH) is a rare, congenital condition where gastric tissue is found outside of its normal location in the gastric mucosa. In the duodenum, it is usually seen as multiple polyps, specifically in the duodenal bulb. Vacuolations of the parietal cells is considered as a degenerative phenomenon rarely encountered.
